Basil in Calgary

Basil is the best Vietnamese restaurant in the city. The beef sate is amazing, the subs are incredible, and the pho is the best I've had outside of Vietnam. I can't speak highly enough about the quality of the food and service at this restaurant.

I would have gave that restaurant a better rating because the food was great. I went around 2pm. I was the only guest in the restaurant. There was a gentlemen, I think he was the owner or he act as if he was. He was talking so loud without any respect for me! Lower your volume buddy!

The place offers a nice range of fresh food. I love eating here. Employees are always friendly, pricing is fair and the place is always neat.

It has always been good not great but good

Not bad at all. Large menu and large portions. I had the chicken sate soup which came in a huge bowl and had a lot of chicken in it. It was a bit on the oily side and didn't quite have the depth of flavor I've experienced with this dish elsewhere, but overall it was pretty good. I'll probably go back.

I eat here a lot since I work close by. I have to say the customer service is always good and they keep the place clean all the time. Pricing is reasonable and they serve big portions.

Basil has the best Pho broth in my opinion. The contents are similar at a lot of Vietnamese restaurants, but the soup base is by far the best here. Prices are reasonable, but arrive early as it gets busy fast.

The menu and service were ahead of our expectations. We surely liked the atmosphere of this place. Fantastic place to take the family out for dinner.

The sate pho had a nice flavour with not over the top heat factor. The noodles were nothing to special, overall worth a lunch that will get you full and warm especially on a cold winter afternoon.

Work in the area so I am at this place a decent amount. Great portion sizes for the price you pay (which isn't a lot). Typically get their vermicelli bowls which I have never been disappointed in

Was closed earlier as usual! went well before closing and the woman was guarding the door to the empty restaurant saying they took last call wayy before closing time. meanwhile there was her pet DOG RUNNING around the food establishment!!!! on chairs and tables - cant be sanitary at all... Rude staff and they're always closed early! not worth it, just go somewhere else

really yummy sate broth. i’ve tried lots around the city and i like when it’s a thicker peanut broth which this was! amount of noodles/beef/sprouts was less than what i’ve typically received in a bowl or phó. service was incredibly quick.

Their popular item is sate beef (spicy) and sate chicken (spicy). These two items are exceptionally tasty.Portions are generous.Price is OK.The staff were nice.

So good. Salad rolls were super fresh. Everything tasted really flavourful and fresh. Best Vietnamese food I’ve ever had. Service was fast & friendly.

Excellent place! Have gone here a few times on my lunch. I get the viet sub with lemongrass beef (I don't like spicy)and crushed peanuts on it. By far the juiciest beef I have ever had on a sub. The service is also impeccable and the establishment is clean and organized. I highly recommend a visit here!

Pho with the best noodle quality I've had in town and broth is so clean. Taste is luxurious and high quality, subtly clean flavour. Beef is high quality for the price. It's $12 for a big bowl, competitive with other shops but I find the quality better - so IMO a great value.

This spot has extraordinary service as well as delicious food. One of my favourite spots ever. The drinks and food came out rapidly and the prices were economical. Highly recommended.

Fast and clean. Satay Beef Pho here is my jam! Busy at lunch. Friendly staff. Great place if your stuck for time and looking for something quick.

This place is worth giving a shot. They have large portions for fair prices. Consistently clean and with fantastic vibes. Would recommend to others.

Vietnamese cuisine. Eating in at this place is wonderful. Its an absolutely massive bowl of noodles for the price & the soups often come with lots of broth to fill you up.I do think the spicy foods could use a bit more kick butt if you ask they will often oblige and make it extra spicy for you.

We had gone for lunch. No didn't like the food the Pho was okay but I wanted to some curry and rice the chicken curry was not at all good.

They close at 5pm on Saturdays, my husband got there before 4:40pm to order some takeout and they said last call was at 4:30pm so why not close at 4:30pm then. The server obviously wanted to get outta there.....poor customer service and we’re regulars too

I'm a fan of their pho satay. This is close to my house and it's usually a place where you can grab a quick bite. I usually get the vegetarian pho satay (the broth is not vegetarian). They have a decent vegetarian menu but the pho broth is not.

By far one of the best Vietnamese places in Calgary and Airdrie. Highly recommend the subs, they're huge and so good. Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get! Super friendly staff, good atmosphere for a couple or even a family and quick delivery of food to your table, or even take out. i cannot say enough good things about Basil and the food and staff!will return 10/10

Delicious Vietnamese cuisine! I had the beef stew with buttered baguette which really hit the spot! Reminded me of my childhood eating my dads Vietnamese cooking. My friends had pho and vermicelli which they said they would come back for again. Only thing was I wish they served complimentary tea instead of just water with the meal.

Always great food, brought quickly. I come here at least twice a month for the past year and I've never had a bad experience. Always worth going to.

This spot never fails to impress. They serve great dishes for reasonable pricing, there no long wait even when they are loaded.

Had a B6 lemon grass chicken and spring roll on vermicelli. It was pretty tasty. Only downfall was I wish the chicken chunks were a tad bigger to pickup with chopsticks.

This place is so good, it will spoil you for all the rest. I'm not even kidding. Any time we eat Vietnamese anywhere else, we are so disappointed. The service is great, the staff is friendly, and they are quick in the kitchen. The food though, SO GOOD.

This used to be my favorite pho place but over the past year it has definitely went down in quality. They used to have this amazing coconut creamy broth that accompanied their soups but about a year ago they stopped adding it to their soups. . On the menu they still say that it's there but it's not. The beef at this place is still the best in the city no questions asked.I wish I could award this restaurant 5 stars but with the quality of the broth being brought down so much over the past year this is now closer to an average pho place.

I ordered the chicken satay pho, it was packaged up well and smelled wonderful.I noticed the poor chicken quality and it even had a piece big piece cartilage in there. Nasty.I will not order fro here again.

B8 is one of the best bun bowls you could have in the city. Their pho is a soup to respect. Fabulous place. Fast and top quality every single time. Very much like this place. Even though our office moved we will still make the trip cause with how fast they are and how good we can still make it and back in an hour.

Such a wonderful restaurant! The spicy beef sate pho is absolutely delicious. The service was spectacular and the resteraunt was very clean. Highly recommended.

Awesome staff and great pho. Had a honeydew bubble tea and I'm pretty sure they made it with fresh honeydew. So refreshing on such a hot day

This is by far the best Vietnamese restaurant I’ve been to. It’s quietly tucked away close to the Sheraton Cavalier. Initially I went for the Satay Pho (unbelievably good and flavorful). We then ordered a huge catering order for a business event and that went over huge. Very accommodating and the food is tasty.

This has a nice little spot for lunch. The food is good, and the service is quick, and water glasses are refilled often and during our visits. They don't offer pho in more than one size, but the portions are a good enough size to fill up most appetites. The spring rolls are very good, as are the salad rolls.The parking lot is very busy during lunchtime, so arrive early if you can.

I met up with a friend here on his suggestion. I love the food. Nice relaxing atmosphere. The rare steak and tripe pho was excellent.

Good was tasty and great . Some of (owners maybe ?) they don’t even wear mask to bring food . Or refilling water and talking ... I have not been good place they do not wear mask until this place . Kitchen staff or most staff does wear FYI ( I think owners which it’s ok if they just your table but they bring food and refill water and they talk above the food ..
